Beschreibung: In this course we will explore the intricate structures, diverse functions and rich history of English and set a strong foundation for all of your future linguistics modules.
Throughout this lecture, we will delve into various aspects of linguistics, including phonetics and phonology (the sounds and sound system of English), morphology (word structure), semantics (meaning), pragmatics (meaning in context) and sociolinguistics (language in society). We will also examine how English has evolved over time.
By the end of this course you will have gained valuable insights into the complexities of the English language and deepened your understanding of how English works.
